Cherry Picks for May

Of course, Cherry scented colognes–a blurry of which have hit the shelves (in honour of the blossoming sakura?)

L'Occitane Fleurs de Cerisier perfume and talc

Our personal choice at YYC is the L’Occitane variety. Not as cloyingly sweet as Fresh’s fragranced cherries, not as candy-like as Masaki Matsushima’s Mat Cherry.

A sweeter take: Masaki Mat Cherry

We love Louboutin’s blue patent t-strap and slingback shoes-fresh and feminine, Louis Vuitton eyewear–groove to that deep azure frame or the cool grey. While Chloe is looking more like Marni than Marni ever did…it’s hard to argue with the crisp pastels and genuinely pretty skirts that grace the knee.
How ’bout a hot dinner date with Angel Sanchez? We spied a delicious candy apple dress with a bubble hem and enough pizzazz to make us wonder why we haven’t bought him before….

Valentino's shopper in bone. Look for the one in ruby red.

Patent is still prevalent, so keep that windex handy. We adore Valentino’s take on the ruby red ruched tote with black patent handles (great for those who wish to spice their wardrobe with a dash of patent, but not serious enough about the trend to buy the BIG Kahuna), Vera Wang’s less ‘Serious’ wear that is a fusion of Girbaud and Owens–check out Saks or Neimans for a selection of her edgy day wear (we love the very wearable black sweaters with bustle detailing or the wrap khaki version of the same concept, both under $900), Zoe’s Snake-y offerings for Lieber. Okay, we aren’t grooving to her tune, but Judith needed a face lift and whether Rachel is cozy with Nicole or not, the update is good business.

Stella McCartney's silver lame pleather tote with Blahnik patent Specchio mules

Stella McCartney’s Flash bags in Silver or Gold Lame–“pleather,” naturally. Kudos to Ms. Mac for her continuing committment to all things vegan.

Matthew Williamson embroidered top -- a May Cherry Pick!

Decent offerings from Matthew Williamson in his usual ‘ethnic’ beaded, embroidered and bedazzled fare–Intermix USA (and, lest we forget–he has been dubbed Prince of Pucci, so his creations are also sported by the house that Emilio built through their International Retail).

Happy Golden Week to those of you so inclined!
