A refreshing reprise from those chilly Winter days (okay, so it’s still 85 degrees in Miami….IT IS Winter)
YYC had the pleasure of meeting Tanya Marie-McLendon, buyer and designer of AZUL BOUTIQUE, Cocowalk.
The shop features rows of some of the finest Italian Labels this side of the Via Condotti! Jamaican born Tanya has a keen eye for fashion trends as well as style vision for her patrons (i.e. Not everyone walks out with the same bag of loot). She also has a great range of denims and interesting, chic little tops to suit every wallet.
Unlike many of the more franchised Boutiques in the area (adrift…and…awash? Fendi, Versace and Cavalli) Tanya likes to shake up the styles with a variety of undiscovered and local designers as well as the more celebrated Galliano and Cavalli pieces that we spied on our hunt. The inventory changes weekly so you don’t have that staid rerun retail experience.
YYC sends oodles of THANKS to Tanya AND AZUL for taking the time to share some of her style (we figured if we hung around long enough we might actually pick up a little of her sparkle by osmosis!!) We truly enjoyed seeing her own signature line with fluid seams and feminine colour stories.
Somehow, I don’t think I could get the same results by hoisting my Bernina out of the attic (maybe I should start by trying to remember how to thread a bobbin first).
Around the corner from Ling Chow Salon (LOVE YOU LING!!!) You may have found a new secret weapon.
