Golyester (136 S. La Brea Avenue, Los Angeles, California) is a Treasure trove (Takara kuji!!!!) of vintage “finds” including Versace owned by the lovely Morgan Fairchild.
Wow.

Great display and truly a selection that merited longer than the mere hour I was allotted for my personal ‘fun.’

I’m really looking forward to wading though their catalogue of lovely dresses, bags and shoes–blasts from the Past.

Owner Esther Ginsberg has compiled a collection that is truly noteworthy and staff Zoe, Amy, Andi and Laura are widely knowledgeable and can guide even the novice fan through their racks with ease.

I was “wow-ed” and I see a LOT of clothing.

If you are in the Los Angeles area and hanker for a taste of beautifully crafted garments that you won’t see anywhere else (at least this side of the Pacific/Atlantic) DO stop by Golyester Vintage (323-931-1339). It’s not the CC/LV that might be thrown onto that collective heap (as magnificent as that might be) it is the STUFF that inspired such dreams……

Had your tantrum for the Day?

Well, I’m sure it would be more attention-worthy in these very chic black ‘Mid-Heel’ booties by Givenchy—the preview sent courtesy of our YYC Shoe Guru: Eddie “No tax on purchases outside New York” Curtis of Bergdorf Goodman (HEY, at these price points, it all counts). $1370 worth of Fun. This kicky little boot features a stylish open toe, black kidskin leather with gold-tone-tipped fastenings along the tongue of the boot (doesn’t that sound provocative), AND a strap with goldtone buckle.

Of course, all I see is how difficult it might be to remove upon entering a room of tatami. (I know I’ve been in Japan too long when I have to consider the evac factor of footwear). We can all stand around irradiated in our stockings–at least the floors stay clean. So desu.

Well, according to Net-A-Porter (and I actually went to their London office several years back and met one of their buyers) it IS all about Parachute Silk. Gotta love the fact that in these days of no luggage allowed you can cram an entire ensemble in your pockets for a quick change without looking like you were mailed third class.

Chloe is featuring a pretty pink pleated skirt (and indeed, pleats on parachute silk must be akin to MP3 technology for textiles). There’s Matthew Williamson, too…but we won’t expect too much there. Our Matt is fun for a not so cheap thrill but as fashion goes, he went. Whether Karl or the big boys will be turning their designs to the material remains to be seen, but where one goes the others usually tread.

I can’t wait to spend $6K a CC jacket fabricated from $14.00 worth of material and 12 acrylic logo laden buttons (where is my rip cord?). The joys of it all. 1-2-3-JUMP
