We enjoyed a twenty minute comedy riff as to who the Hell came up with this slogan….now it’s running in American magazines:

Let’s just say it doesn’t strike me as compelling. Sort of like:

Yeah, you could go to South Africa, but why? Or Maybe you’d rather
just stay home and sort your sock drawer. Well, it’s possible.

Flip a coin.
Oh, whatever. I mean….if it’s possible today…I guess it’ll be possible later.

No real hurry to get there. (Despite the mesmerizing ad campaign).

It’s a long flight….maybe you’d just rather wait for someone at National Geographic to photograph the best parts and then, well, maybe you’ll buy the magazine instead….that’s possible, too.

I have four new ideas for their next series of commercials:

South Africa–Why not?

South Africa–Maybe yes, Maybe No

South Africa–Could be alright for a few days

South Africa- Better than nothing

I think it got a bad rap with ‘The Exorcist’ and Linda Blair’s
possession by demons. (We won’t elaborate on split pea soup in this
post.)

Of course, I’ve never had much success with one–albeit the new
variety apparently glows in the dark (better for your séance), but I
could use a few lucky numbers. Monte Carlo beckons.

What’s a girl to do?

#1) set some new resolutions (AKA ‘Dump Him’)

#2) don’t just wear the gym clothes…get to the gym. Minimum 10 minutes (don’t tell). Better at 25. (Minutes…I mean, well, the year thing is self evident)

#3) designate a driver (and promptly dump him in the lounge)

etc.

My plans for ringing in ‘09 include—a DVD (Zoolander…for the 133rd time), Orville Redenbacher popcorn, One condom (Great Expectations), Good Friend….and two Prozac 10 mg capsules.

It’s gonna be good.

In 2005 the Japanese drama Ichi Rittoru no Namida (1 Litre Of Tears) used Konayuki as a theme song. Konayuki became one of the best selling singles of 2005. Well, Ryo-chan does seem passionate about the subject……

Fujimaki Ryoto’s (aka Ryo-Chan….aka Baby Chan….aka….well, nevermind) vocal range is similar to that of Rob Thomas’ (Matchbox 20). While limited, the quality in octave is strong, clean–’Wonderful and Beautiful‘–to listen to….Really a treat. It’s a clear tone that kinda haunts you enough to seek that trill again. Better buy the CD.

Ms. Motoko Watanabe made some time for us on a break from her Theatre Production Company in Tokyo.
She is part of a troop that does traditional Japanese dance.
I thought Chanel was expensive, but the typical kimono is $7K plus–that said, one look at the material and the cost becomes clearly evident—the fabric is sumptuous. If only I saw that kind of crafting in the latest CC collection.
On that note, Mr. L. has indeed dropped his prices for ready to wear Cruise 09. The handbags have upped their ante by another 25% (That means that ‘Classic’ you were buying for $1450.00 two years ago after two/three price increases is now over $2200). Happy Happy.
Nonetheless, I digress.
