Kimono Italian Style
While I’ve never been a huge fan of Missoni (and they do quite well without me, thank you very much) I must admit that their campaigns to add more structure to the knit fare that they create with such expertise has made me reconsider my procrastination of purchase. (In other words, “Charge It”…..)
LOVE their modified ‘Kimono’ sleeveless tunic–as featured on the Bergdorf Goodman site. Of course, having a drop dead Gorgeous granddaughter with socialite proclivities doesn’t hurt the promotion of their garb. That said, they are expanding their fare (and floor space) in most of the more upscale markets. Konichii Wa!

Hi, I also saw this Missonni style wrap jacket-er, Kimono-in pale blue and peach at Neiman Marcus here in San Francisco. I like the structure of the fit, but I didn’t see anything that matched it and usually they make skirts or tops to coordinate. I didn’t see this version, but I’ll follow your lead (again, thanks yumyumcherry) and try the Bergdorf Catalog online. Do you know if they are distributed by the Etro group of clothing? I wonder because they seem to ship at one time and many of their colors are the same. I don’t think that these knits are actually being made as well as they were about five years ago, but they seem more popular.
I like the direction Missoni is taking. I’m used to admiring the slinky knits from afar because my figure needs that little bit of camoflauging…and this kimono looks like just the thing. Would never have come to my attention without this post!
