“Mum’s” the word. This is the treat that dutiful Japanese moms put in their kids’ backpacks for good luck during test taking (of course, nothing beats an Amulet from the Meiji Shrine….designed for that purpose, of course).

That is, of course, unless mom’s a Geijin. Then you get a bucket of ribs and some, what appears to be, bratwurst. Hope she threw in a cold one, too.

Washington, DC is Yumyumcherry territory. Arigato Gozai Imas for the beautiful blossoms (which I am told differ tremendously in colour from those blooms in Kyoto)….We, too, enjoy the fragrance and sight of the cherry trees as they adorn the Basin and grace the vista of our Jefferson Memorial. Sort of like what a good lipstick by Kose does for me…..of course Nothing beats the SAKURA watch by Franck Muller.

Long Island, $14,900 Sakura #17, How Could I Live Without it. Signature red crocodile strap, this was most likely intended for a guy, but hey, I reached the Counter FIRST…..Also done in the Ladies’ Long Island, more manageable for most wrists, and the Small Curvex. Would have done the Curvex IF I could have found it.

Do it in memory of Jefferson…..

Of course, Cherry scented colognes–a blurry of which have hit the shelves (in honour of the blossoming sakura?)

Our personal choice at YYC is the L’Occitane variety. Not as cloyingly sweet as Fresh’s fragranced cherries, not as candy-like as Masaki Matsushima’s Mat Cherry.

We love Louboutin’s blue patent t-strap and slingback shoes-fresh and feminine, Louis Vuitton eyewear–groove to that deep azure frame or the cool grey. While Chloe is looking more like Marni than Marni ever did…it’s hard to argue with the crisp pastels and genuinely pretty skirts that grace the knee.
How ’bout a hot dinner date with Angel Sanchez? We spied a delicious candy apple dress with a bubble hem and enough pizzazz to make us wonder why we haven’t bought him before….
