Motorcycle Jackets–Rev it Up

Seems like Fall has everyone grabbing for their moto styles one way or another.

It must be hard to find textiles that lend well to the look without leather (or PLEATHER) for Stella McCartney.
While we applaud her commitment to ‘non-animal cruelty’ in the name of fashion, we do question her cut.

BDG is featuring her coated boucle version of Fall’s staple jacket. Apparently, it pulls at the underarm on even the model…..
now, I’ve had issues with Ms. McC’s bustline cut before, this can’t bode well for anyone with either a)broad shoulders b)breasts over an A cup c) people with a ribcage.

Ouch. We suggest that you keep riding until another style comes along…….vroom

Sergio Rossi for Puma

Sergio Rossi (one of yyc’s fave shoe designers) has done a special selection of signature items for PUMA.
*think Stella McCartney and Adidas….*

Sergio Rossi for Puma purple suede sneakers

Behold, purple suede sneaker as seen through a looking glass in Tokyo Midtown.
(Be still, Alice)

Didn’t ask the price because as a 9.5 (US 9) I’d stand a better chance of marrying the Emperor than getting a pair in my size in Japan. Ah So Desu.

Restir at Tokyo Midtown

Tuesday’s dance card was filled with a dash to scope out Tokyo Midtown’s newest shopping Mecca. It opened April 30, 2007 with much fanfare as a rival to neighbouring Mori constructed Roppongi Hills. TM features several levels of retail and dining venues.

Outside of Restir, Tokyo Midtown

We discovered a second location of one of YYC’s fave venues in Tokyo ”RESTIR” filled to the brim with select Givenchy, Stella McCartney, Kiki de Montparnasse (Naughty in Nippon), Balenciaga, Lanvin and Rene Caovilla (do not even ask to try if your shoe size is above a 37.5)—we first stumbled upon this FAB select store (as they are known in Japan) in the Ginza.

The atmospheric dressing room at Restir

The Guest Service agent, Ayako Nigana, was not only one of the most beautiful women I’ve seen in a long time (seriously pretty, and hey, I’m straight), but she also spoke fluent English (an ever more rare commodity than you would expect from a member of the G-8 crowd). The dressing rooms were atmospheric—worthy of a Sound Stage in a Sony Pictures production. We can’t wait to shop there again. Still wish that McQueen blouse was a 42 instead of a 40. Should have bought it anyway….Alas.
