Confecx West as I think of it in my LA Speak. Groove to the Dry Cakes. I love the Victorias. Probably because I still have not worked out my yen to dollar ratio. Bet they cost more than my room w/ double occupancy. Oh Well. Gotta love those apricot centres.

Okay Girlfriends — time to lovingly pack up all those white shoes and bags ’til Easter ‘08 (Gasp). Unless, of course, you are PAT BOONE.

That said, perhaps this standard has evolved into a “do your own thing” over the past few years. Winter White — with its slightly less stark cast (and Named for its seasonal virtues of use) is always in style.

Still, as fashion’s createurs (think Choo, Chanel, Gucci) are promoting accessories in slates, black, cherry, and the ubiquitous black patent, why bother — check out our favourite VBH envelope clutch in glittering garnet:

Okay, Tom Ford–Gucci’s fashion magician of days past who then parlayed YSL into recent success– is launching his own flagship Boutique. Citing himself as his own Muse–this guy obviously has no inferiority complexes with which he’s wrestling. Of course, he is an adonis and I’m just annoyed that he doesn’t groove to the female beat–not that I was anticipating a date with Mr. Ford in any event.

At his new Madison Avenue digs, Tom will offer tailored selections of classic men’s wear in the exquisite materials he prefers. I’d love to see him running down the street to visit V. Bruce. Gotta admit, they’d make good bookends.

I guess his Lauder contract has paid well.
