Jiminy Crickets!
Buena Vista is Japanese Racing Association’s Horse of the Year for 2010!
BV (Trained by Hiroyoshi Matsuda for Sunday Racing Co.) became the fourth Filly to win the award (following Vodka in 2008-2009…..or what I like to think of as a Vodka Chaser…..ha, ha).
She won two Grade 1 Races last year-the Victoria Mile in May and the Tenno-sho in October.
Buena Vista beat out Apapane by roughly 150 votes (won the Triple Crown for 3 yr. olds—ONLY the 3rd J-thoroughbred in racing history to do so).
Now, while all you YYC fans may wonder why this is reading more like a racing handicap sheet than a Fashion/Culture blog, I’m using it as a note to self: (last time I went my 500 Yen bet came in as a long shot and I got 160,000 back for my investment –do the math).
Better book my room at the Hotel Continental–Fuchu, before the next run in April when I hope to at the very least Place my own Show (ha, ha).
1-1 Hiyoshi-cho, Fuchu, Tokyo Prefecture 106-8401, Japan

Fortunately for baby-chan, I know how to pick a Winner.
